FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS If you don't find the question or answer you are seeking, please submit your question through our CONTACT US page. How can I extend the useful life of my pocketknife? Avoid getting sand, grit, lint, or other foreign particles in the mechanism. Keep the blade clean and dry, and wipe it with an oil-moistened cloth to prevent stains. Occasionally, place one small drop of light machine oil in the area of the pivot pin. Do not over oil. How can you help me if my knife becomes damaged? If you break your knife, call us. If it’s fixable, we can fix it. Phone us at 520-360-9948 or email customersupport@swbladecraft.com. How should I care for my knife? It depends on what the blade is made of. All high carbon steels will stain, even stainless. ATS-34, D2, and 440C resist corrosion well. O1 and A2 should be wiped clean with light oil at the end of a day of use to prevent rust. W1 and 1095 should be kept clean and coated with light oil as they stain easily. And always store your knife and sheath separately. I’m buying this as a gift.
